Magius was close friends as a boy with another boy called Huma. They argued, but liked each other. Huma went on to become a Knight of Solamnia, and Magius dreamed of magic instead. Magius was arrogant, and one to experiment with the ragged edge of magic, leading him to ever greater heights of knowledge, but also causing him to wonder about abandoning the paths of High Sorcery.

However, instead, he continued his studies with greater enthusiasm, and was a true master at a young age at magic, leading to him taking the Test of High Sorcery early. During the Test, Magius was shown the one thing he was unable to accept, the details of how and when he would die in the future. This death scene was an illusion designed to make Magius more humble, but instead, it drove him to believe in it and to reject the way it happened.

He did pass the Test and first wore the Black Robes, selfish and utterly devoted to self-service and wanting only his own gain. Eventually, he found himself growing more open to people, and took up the Red Robes,and tried to find a way to prevent his prophesied death. When he found himself hemmed in by the orders, he turned away and abandoned the orders of high sorcery, and became a renegade to find more power. He sought out a renegade who might teach him more, but eventually clashed with him, one Galen Dracos and they parted on evil terms.

Magius became a man who sought magic to save himself, but he also helped others, a little, sometimes. Magius found himself lost in greed and avarice, even to betraying his friend, Huma. When Huma was saved, Magius dedicated himself to Huma and strove to help him and to stop the devastation of the Dragon war they were in. Magius and Kaz, another friend of Huma's, were driving a wagon containing a great weapon against the evil dragons known as the dragonlance when they were attacked. Magius strove true and honestly, using the limits of his magic, but though he succeeded and even saved Kaz as well as the dragonlances, he was captured.

In the end, it turned out to be Galen Dracos who was the one who captured him, now a servant of Takhisis, the Dark Queen of Evil, the goddess who was in control of the evil side of the Dragon War. Galen tortured Magius, who had a revelation in those darkest hours, and, with it reverberating in his soul, chose to dedicate himself to good. The Gods of Light chose to honor him and turned his robes white to show his true path. He was slain by Galen Dracos as a lesson against good, but his example led to wizards, for a time, being granted more respect.

IN GAME HISTORY: This should be much more detailed than the canon history. We need to believe that your character has always existed in this game, just like your character does. Magius has always been an overachiever, but a quiet one. He was always the man who was kind and helpful to others, even as he studied everything he could get his hands on. He was mostly interested in medicine, though, and he spent a great deal of time studying medicine. In medical school he started as a general practitioner and achieved his medical degree in that path. But he did not leave medical school. Starting work, he kept pushing himself and pursued training in emergency medicine, surgery, pathology, neurology, genetics, podiatry, pediatrics, radiology, obstetrics, and gynecology, as well as geriatric medicine, and internal medicine disciplines. By the time he was 50, he had managed to subsume these disciplines and a few more. Unwilling to ever stop learning, he has begun studying veterinary medicine on the side.

He currently works out of Sunburst Medical Clinic, most of the time, with a few volunteer hours at Irvine General when he has the chance. He prefers the clinic however, for he likes to work with people, and be there, face to face, with time to help them and be a doctor, not just another face in the crowd.

His passion for people and for medicine, and for learning about both have driven him all of his life, ever since he lost his family to an outbreak of Tuberculosis. He rebuilt his life from this, and formed a new family, with a wife and child, only to lose his wife to old age, and his child to the normal growing up and moving out of life. Now he is alone, and a workaholic and learnaholic as always, and he strives to ever learn more and help more people.

During the Robot attacks in San Francisco, he was there, and ended up performing field medicine where he could. And of course, he ended up working through the Blue Shadow Virus, one of the few who did not catch it, even among his fellow doctors.

Seems like the thing to do these days is post on one of these blogs, or networks, and talk to people here. Somehow, it doesn’t feel quite the same as talking in person, to me, but that might be my age showing. Either way, hello to all.

My name is Magius, and I am a doctor at Sunburst Medical Clinic. My colleague there kept mentioning this place as an interesting read, and since I do rather love reading, I decided to give it a go. Seems a bit chaotic sometimes, but what doesn’t, these days? But you mostly seem like a nice bunch, so I hope to enjoy a few chats on here between work and studying.

Now, does anyone by chance know of a good stable around and about? The one I used most recently is shuttering its doors and my horse Silvanus needs a good place to stay.
